Mission and Service
In The United Church of Canada we have a vision of how we participate in God’s mission in the world. This United Vision involves ministry in our own United Churches and in work with partners across the country and around the globe. Our United Vision and our United work is funded by the Mission and Service Fund.

Colombia Exposure Trip
Thanks to your gifts to M&S, I was able to go on an exposure trip to Colombia from March 19th to March 28th. There were two parts of my trip- from March 20th to the 23rd I was able to attend the meetings for Peace for Life, a United Church sponsored international group which seeks to promote justice and right relationships with people around the world. At those meetings, a long with 50 other international guests, I heard from indigenous peoples, farmers, labour leaders, teachers, students, ecumenical groups who talked about their struggle for human rights in Colombia.
From
March 24th to the 27th, I went to the oil city of Barranca. There travelling with 6 other international guests I met with a women's justice organization, family members of masacre victims, women who had been displaced by war, community leaders, a war resistors group, a youth art collective that used their talents to reject poverty and injustice, and a diversity support group.
